Dar fuq il-Wied as it is aptly named, is a typical Gozitan House of Character, situated on the cliff edge overlooking the Xlendi Valley. This beautiful house offers a blend of modern amenities and natural beauty. Dar fuq il-Wied comprises five bedrooms, all fully air conditioned and with ensuite bathrooms. This property also has a spacious living room for family gatherings, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, wood burning stove and a hot tub. Everything is centrally located around a sunlit internal courtyard, whilst a beautiful terrace overlooks an inviting swimming pool which is surrounded by a lush mature garden. Upon entering you are greeted by a wide hallway which leads you to the internal yard. The yard is surrounded by doors leading to bedrooms, living and dining areas as well as the kitchen which overlooks the beautiful valley.

 

During the hot summer months, a refreshing dip in the pool is a must and a lovely meal or a glass of wine on the terrace goes down nicely. Adding to its allure, Dar fuq il-Wied features an expansive mature garden, where guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll amidst lush surroundings. For the ultimate relaxation, a dedicated private room offers the indulgence of a six-seater hot tub. The pool area is surrounded by sun loungers, a bbq and two outdoor dining tables, making it the perfect place to enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner amidst nature and stillness.

 

The entire house, pool and hot tub are exclusive for Dar fuq il-Wied’s guests and all bedrooms are air conditioned/heated.

The Neighborhood

Dar fuq il-Wied sits nicely in one of the smallest villages, Il-Munxar which is found just on the Southern coast of Gozo. The Village is characterized by rural charm, with traditional Maltese houses, narrow winding streets, and picturesque countryside surroundings. It offers a quieter and more laid-back atmosphere compared to some of the larger towns on Gozo, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a tranquil getaway. Despite it's size, Munxar has plenty to offer. It's baroque style church is dedicated to St. Paul and the interior is beautifully decorated with paintings, sculptures, and decorative elements typical of Maltese religious architecture. Nature lovers can head to the walking trails along the coast, passing from the Sanap and Ta' Cenc cliffs, whilst enjoying the most amazing panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea. The walking trail leads you all the way to the inlet Bay of Xlendi, lined with restaurants.

House rules

To ensure a pleasant stay, we would like to inform you about some additional services and charges. Please take note of the following details:

 

1) Kindly note that no parties or events are allowed.

2) Smoking is not allowed in the property.

3) Noise levels must be kept down at all times.

4) Pets are accepted on request basis.

5) Quiet hours are from 11pm to 7am.

6)Electricity consumption is included. However this is capped at 45 electricity consumption per day. In the case these units are exceeded the charge for the extra consumed units will be calculated at the end of your stay. On your arrival we will take note of the electricity meter reader.

7) A Security deposit of 300Euro is pre-authorized on a valid credit/debit card 2 weeks prior to your arrival. The Security deposit will then be refunded after a week after check-out if no damages are found.

8) A non-refundable deposit of 30% will be charged upon booking and the remaining non-refundable balance due will be charged 30 days prior to the arrival.
